Visitor

Look who Hannah found in our house this morning. CJ thought at first that it was a baby alligator (!) but it turned out to be a baby lizard or salamander of some sort. It was the most excitement our family has seen in a long time and none of the kids can stop talking about it. Who needs Christmas presents?

If you click on the photo and enlarge it, the specimen appears to be a post-larval stage of genus & species Alligator mississippiensis (don't forget I have a BS in Zoology)

That's so exciting!! I remember coming home from a trip and finding a gecko on a pile of stuff the next morning when we got up. That was a surprise!

I found one of those in my home once - a while back. I was a little less humane, and didn't involve kids in it though... I put a glass over it with every intention of having Craig move it outside later, then forgot for a few days... poor little baby gecko...

At our home in Corpus when you went out the front door at night, you could count dozens of geckos. They are great for bug control!

And I bet CJ is right- when you enlarge it, it's head kindof looks like and Alligator. Ew! Logan would LOVE it.
